Children come into care for many reasons, often at short notice. In short-term fostering, you help a child feel safe and settled while professionals work with them and their family to decide what happens next. That might be a return home, a move to long-term fostering, or another permanent plan.

You’ll support routines like school, meals and bedtime, attend meetings when needed, and share observations that help professionals understand a child’s needs. When it’s time for a child to move on, we’ll support you to manage transitions in a child-centred way.
